Whilst every effort is made to ensured that your item reaches you in the best condition possible, sometimes accidents do happen. To that end, we have created this policy which is a guide to returns and refunds. This is not an exhaustive policy, and can be changed at any point by the Company in line with their operating practices. The points given are for guidance. Should you have a particular query then please do not hesitate to contact customersupport@curiouscowantiques.co.uk.
1. Please ensure that you examine your purchase when delivered. If you notice any damage to the packaging then please ensure you take a picture of the damaged packaging BEFORE opening to view your purchase, as the Company will take out insurance on your purchase in line with our delivery couriers standard terms. Failure to take a picture will result in that insurance being null & void, meaning that if the item is damaged the Company will not be able to make a claim on the insurance, which will delay any resolution of refund or replacement.
2. If the item inside the packaging is damaged, please remove carefully and photograph ALL noticeable damage. This will enable the company to ascertain if the damage is reparable or not. The Company reserves the right to seek a second opinion if it is unclear as to whether repairs would be cost effective and appropriate. Notwithstanding your statutory rights, the Company's decision is final in this respect.
3. Items that arrive in a damaged condition must be reported to the Company within 72 hours from delivery, via email, with attached proof of damage (photographic evidence). Returns, requests for replacement or refunds and credit notes are dependant on the Company being made aware at the earliest possible moment.
4. Any return, no matter the reason for the return, is wholly the responsibility of the customer. Any costs involved in returning an item to the company are borne by the customer. It is advised that, in the case of undamaged goods, the customer should take out adequate insurance for the return with their chosen delivery courier. The Company will NOT be liable for goods being damaged when returned, and the customer will be wholly liable for the forfeiture of the price paid for returned goods that are damaged in transit without insurance.
5. Goods can be returned within 28 days of receipt if they meet the following requirements:
a) The item is returned in its original packaging
b) The item has been damaged in transit or delivery to the customer
c) The item is not as described/seen on the website
d) The item is the wrong size/shape/height/weight
e) The item is no longer suitable due to a change of customer circumstances (eg. bereavement/divorce/other loss)
6. If the item purchased is being returned (due to c, d, & e as above), the Company reserves the right to offer an exchange to the same value as the original item. If an exchange of item is not suitable, other solutions may be offered.
7. In certain cases (no receipt/no proof of damage) the Company reserves the right to offer a "credit note" to the value of the original purchase.
8. If a refund is the agreed, the payment will be returned in the manner of the original purchase - ie. credit/debit card/BACS transfer/cash. Under no circumstances will credit or debit card purchases be refunded with cash.
9. This policy is not exhaustive. All disputes or disagreements will be subject to local legal standards in the jurisdiction of the Company, not the purchaser. Your statutory rights are not affected by this policy.
